How to request account deletion
You can delete your account and data at any time. Choose either option below.
Option 1 — In-app (fastest)
- Open the MyWishBook app and sign in to your account.
- Go to Settings from the left sidebar (or visit
/app/settings). - In the Delete my account section, click Delete account.
- Type
DELETE to confirm and submit. - Your account and associated data are removed immediately.
Option 2 — By email
Send a deletion request from the email address used for your account to:
support@mywishbook.app
Subject: Account Deletion Request. Include the email address used to sign in. We process requests within 7 business days.
What data is deleted
- Your profile (name, email, avatar)
- Birthdays, anniversaries and events you created
- Wishlists and wishlist items
- Family groups you own and your family memberships
- Notification / push subscriptions
- Premium subscription records linked to your account
- Your authentication account (login credentials)
What data is kept (and for how long)
- Anonymized, aggregated usage logs — retained up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention. These contain no personal identifiers after deletion.
- Payment / billing records — where required by law (e.g. tax and accounting), retained for up to 7 years. These are held by our payment processor and contain only the minimum required transaction info.
- Encrypted backups — your data may persist in rolling backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which it is permanently overwritten.
